Can the BFX Brake Bleeder be used for DOT 5 Brake Fluid?
No. Most Brake systems are filled with DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid. DOT 5 brake fluid can not be mixed with these standard fluids. Seals and other components in the vehicle brake system may be damaged and the operation of the brakes will be impaired. If DOT 5 brake fluid is put in the BFX, it will become contaminated with residual DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid.
